The Edinburgh Grand, the capital’s luxury five-star hotel residence, marked the arrival of eight Kalkhoff bikes by taking them for a spin around its striking circular Atrium.
The new bikes, including six pedal bikes and two e-bikes, will be available free for guests to explore the city. Designed specially for The Edinburgh Grand, the bikes feature leather handlebars and front baskets, while hire includes a backpack, water bottle, padlock and helmet.
It is the latest innovation for The Edinburgh Grand which has continually broken the mould of the conventional hotel format, offering apartments, instead of rooms and suites, and branded restaurants and bars rather than the standard hotel dining room.
Cycling in style, with the beautiful looking Kalkhoff bikes, fits perfectly with the elegant nature of the hotel, which occupies a magnificent neo-classical building on Edinburgh’s St Andrew Square.
Gavin MacLennan is the General Manager of The Edinburgh Grand, part of the Lateral City portfolio. He said:
“We spent a lot of time choosing and designing the bikes for the hotel. We work hard to ensure our guests have a superb experience when they come to stay and I know that they are going to love them.
“Edinburgh is a beautiful city and what better way to see it than cycling through the historic streets of Scotland’s capital.”
