How to make the most of Film Fest in the City: Outdoor Screening in St Andrew Square

|

There are many positives to our central location, not the least being that we’re a hop (no need for a skip or jump) away from the lovely St Andrew Square gardens. Here, from Friday the 14th of June to Saturday the 16th of June, Film Fest in the City: Outside Screenings will be showcasing a range of movies for you to enjoy al fresco. A weekend-long open-air film screening is the perfect way to kick off your summer especially if you use these tips for how to make the most of Film Fest in the City.

Plan Ahead

Choose your top picks for the weekend and plan around them. From oldies like When Harry Met Sally to new releases such as Black Panther, and everything in-between, there is something for everyone. Have a look at the list linked below and choose which films you want to see, and plan breaks accordingly. There are plenty of great restaurants around the square; Dishoom, Hawksmoor, and Lady Libertine to name a few, where you can refuel on amazing food and maybe a cocktail or two before heading back for another screening.

Get Comfy

You are not guaranteed a seat and sitting on the ground for hours at a time just won’t do. You could take a small fold up chair or even a cushion for some extra padding. Depending on the weather, it would be wise to pack a blanket for some extra warmth and a brolly because, well, you just never know with this weather.

Bring Snacks

Just like any cinema experience, it wouldn’t be complete without some popcorn. You could stop by the supermarket on the corner of St Andrew Square to stock up on your favourite treats. Although you cannot bring glass into the event area, there will be alcohol and soft drinks available for purchase at the bar facilities provided, as well as a convenient spot to refill your reusable water bottle so you’ve got all your food and drink related bases covered.

All that’s left to do is sit back, relax, and let the Film Fest commence!
