Lateral City Welcomes Abbey Strand Apartments to the Family

We are delighted to have been appointed by Royal Collection Trust to operate the new serviced accommodation at Abbey Strand, located at the foot of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and on the doorstep of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, The Queen’s official Scottish residence.

Abbey Strand Apartments at Holyrood are part of a unique location with an absorbing heritage, the buildings having at one time been a medieval almshouse, lodgings for Mary Queen of Scots’ courtiers and a sanctuary for debtors.

In total, nine individual and utterly original apartments will be available to book by visitors to Edinburgh from the autumn 2019.

Find more information on our apartments here.

Each apartment is designed with a nod to the colourful assortment of former inhabitants and include studio, one and two bedroom accommodation. They feature medieval fireplaces and age-old stone walls, which have been brought together with all the essentials of a contemporary lifestyle and the very best holiday accommodation.

All nine apartments also overlook Arthur’s Seat, the highest point in Holyrood Park, which Robert Louis Stevenson described as “a hill for magnitude, a mountain in virtue of its bold design.”

The apartments will have access to a new public physic garden, inspired by some of the earliest recorded gardens at the Palace.

Follow Abbey Strand on social media to be kept up to date with developments and stand a chance of being one of the first people to stay at this exclusive and historic building.
