What's On in Edinburgh in October

With the Festival chaos well and truly over but festive fever not yet in full swing, October is a great time to enjoy Edinburgh. Although you may have to negotiate some wet weather (what did you expect, you are in Scotland), you won’t have to battle huge crowds. This doesn’t mean there isn’t any action in the city at this time though! In fact, there is a whole host of exciting events going on in Edinburgh in October that you won’t want to miss!

Botanic Lights 2016

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

Thursday 13th – Sunday 6th November, From 6pm

Returning for a third year due to overwhelming popularity, the Botanic Lights 2016 promises to be the best show yet! Usually only open in the day, experience the beautifully landscaped grounds after dark but in a way you have never seen them before! Visitors will follow a trail around the various features of the gardens including the Victorian Palm House, The Chinese Hillside and Inverleith House, all illuminated by colourful lights and projections. Time slots are allocated when buying tickets due to the huge popularity of the event so get in quick while you can.
